Coaching 2018-01-02T16:01:44+00:00

I coach people to help them transition from one career to the next. To bring a peace of mind, increased confidence and belief in that what you are doing, is the right thing for you.

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” Mark Twain

Your feel this heavy weight on your shoulders, a feeling of being dragged down or pulled out of shape. You recognise you are trying to be somebody you don’t want to be. Yet, you don’t know what you want and you know that you don’t want to do what you are doing now. You feel trapped and want a path forward, that helps you become the person you know you are meant to be. Imagine knowing with increased confidence and certainty what motivates you, what makes you tick and get out of bed in the morning. Then aligning that with what you want to do. Gaining a knowing sense of who you are and what you are meant to be. Being more fulfilled and a growing sense of permanence in your life.

If you want this, then coaching could be for you. Helping you navigate through that period of uncertainty and, even scariness, to uncover what you were born to do.

Reading this, is that you? I’ve been there. It’s not been easy but I’ve found a way forward. Can you?

I believe in coaching that partners with my clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their potential.

In practice, this means us working together to support the goals that are set by you. In a confidential and safe environment that creates learning from greater awareness and understanding, helping you identify what you want and manage your progress. I believe we all have the capacity to realise our own potential with the resources available to us. I help create meaning and connection to what is possible (that potential) and help you empower yourself to realise that potential.

My journey to being a coach?

After becoming an internal coach and mentor at Intel, I left not knowing what, or why, I wanted to do. I followed my interests in coaching and enabling change in people and organisations. I trained with Coaching Development and am a member of the Internal Coaching Federation.

As a coach, I believe I am a thinking partner for people to maximise their potential and enabling them to grow. I have Mentoring experience supporting the learning and growth of participants in coaching training programmes.

I am also a thinking partner for my wife, as joint owner and Director of our lace wedding boots business, House of Elliot.

My coaching philosophy and am I a fit for you?

Words my clients use to describe me, reflect me and who I am.

Calm, relaxed, interested, non-prescriptive, thought provoking; an adept listener, very helpful/effective, professional, highly skilled, friendly, flexible.

I believe in using positive psychology and a solution focused approach to my coaching that is non-directive and client centred. This I believe helps people empower themselves to move towards what they want.

I believe in an equal partnership, a thinking partner, a mirror working with my clients to help them think, feel and explore without judgement or be held to account; to be truly understood. Clients tell me I remain focused on the outcome, am direct and challenging while offering different perspectives and sharing greater insights for deeper levels of meaning.

I am reflective and bring this into my coaching, curious and inquisitive with a relaxed approach while having a strong desire for growth and personal development, in my client and myself. You’ll find me supportive, caring yet straight forward and to the point.

What’s the Process?

We would meet initially for a chemistry session (no obligation), to discuss the broad areas for the coaching and if we wish to work together.

Our coaching sessions can either be held face-to-face (depending on location), by telephone or by Skype. The number of sessions can vary depending on our approach and expectation is that we will work together for an agreed number of sessions lasting for an agreed period of time.

We will decide together the frequency of the sessions and in due course, whether to continue working together after our initial sessions have been completed. Each session will be shaped by your goal for that session

I am a member of the International Coaching Federation and am bound by its standards and a code of ethics which embodies the confidentiality of coaching conversations.

My fees are competitive and am happy to discuss these further with you.

“The coaching helped me to change my attitude towards [name removed]. This has enabled me to have a much more positive relationship with [name removed] and a happier life in general. I’ve also learnt that I can affect positive change… The coaching helped me to think through the causes of the issues and the tangible actions I could take to address them. My observation is that having a plan to tackle the issues meant I had a much more positive mindset which in and of itself goes a long way to solving them”
